March 27, 2025 - Belgian talents Michiel Haverans and Nathan Vanspringel ready for a season in GT4 European Series 2025 with TeamFloral and the Ford Mustang GT4
Belgian TeamFloral, known for its years of experience in Motorsport and its strong ties with Ford Performance, has announced that it will participate in the full GT4 European Series programme in 2025 with the iconic Ford Mustang GT4, with which it was already active in the series last season. The team has recruited young Belgian drivers Michiel Haverans and Nathan Vanspringel for this ambitious project.
Young Belgian drivers strengthen TeamFloral
Nathan Vanspringel (22 years old) recently joined the Ford Performance Junior Team, highlighting his potential and Ford's strategy of supporting young talents. His teammate, Michiel Haverans (21 years old), is a promising driver with already an impressive record in GT racing. Together, they form a dynamic duo ready to compete in the GT4 European Series.
Nathan Vanspringel: “I am really looking forward to starting this new season as a Ford Junior in the Ford Performance programme. It's a completely new page in my career and we're going to have to be there from the first meter. It feels a bit like an unwritten page on which we can bring a very nice story! I'm also looking forward to working with the team, Ford Performance and my thanks to all the partners on the project."
Michiel Haverans: “For me it's a big step to a top international competition, but of course I already have experience in Belcar, the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux and the 24H Series. The Ford Mustang is a new car for me, but I am ready for that."
Support from Ford Performance and preparation in the US
Thanks to close partnership with Ford Performance, both drivers travelled to the United States in mid-March to prepare for the season. They underwent intensive training sessions on Ford's high-level simulators, which allowed them to learn the tracks and car set-ups thoroughly before starting the real thing.
Ford Mustang GT4: reliability and performance
After a positive first year, which proved the reliability of the Ford Mustang GT4, the team has implemented upgrades to further improve performance. These improvements should bring them closer to the podium and increase the car's competitiveness.
Two young drivers in the team will be a huge challenge
We are hugely looking forward to 2025 and are very pleased to run the GT4 European series with two young drivers. The GT4 European Series is one of the greatest championships in Europe and a good preparation for racing GT3 cars.
Having 2 young drivers this year fits very well with Ford Performance's future strategy, which shows clear ambitions with the launch of the Ford Performance Junior Team. The complete line-up of Mustang Challenge, GT4, GT3 and Le Mans offers huge opportunities for young drivers with ambitions.
‘We also thank Nico Verdonck for his professional guidance as coach and pilot last year. Nico will stay on board as Nasthan's coach and will share his extensive knowledge and experience to lead the team to success,' underlines Jean-Marc Valckenaere
